Lead Teacher Day
June 9th, 2009 by mrstetupu
Phew…. it’s been a while!!! In between e-portfolios, art exhibition, speech writing, putting together a Powhiri for the Prime Minister at our school, dance groups, etc, I had forgotten about the blogging!!! Ahhh the joys of teaching.
On a positive note today we had a lead teacher day as part of our I.C.T cluster and it’s been a pretty interesting day! I actually got to show some people a couple of web2.0 tools and explain how they can be used. It’s weird being on the teaching end!!! We got to use wallwisher as well – which is a fantastic collaborative tool that can be used when feeding back ideas and brainstorming.
We looked at edtalks which I found quite useful. A website packed with short videos from different educators and “thinkers” from about the place. As someone in my group said “it’s like attending a conference from your living room, classroom, etc!!!
I think getting to know all the different lead teachers within our cluster has been great as well. It’s funny to think that we can all be in such close proximity of each other and yet have such huge differences within our schools. Funnily enough there are lots of things that are similar as well, and it’s been good to be able to hear different perspectives on things.
Well… my head is spinning with ideas… it’s time to get going and get planning!

Long time no blog but welcome back! I agree, one of the best parts of today was the opportunity it gave the lead teachers to get to know each other better. Hopefully you found at least one or two things that will come in useful with your kids!
